Aside from being the biggest kid in Na Pe'a, Uncle Kalani gives us the animated version of every lesson, and always teaches us something new while making us laugh.

Shari Jumalon
A Teacher with the Kua o ka Lā New Century Public Charter School, Aunty Shari is the Proud mother of Anela and Cyrus Jumalon. She is an advocate for kids and has been trained with the PVS STEM program and sailed on Hōkūleʻa. Auntie Sheri brings an outside-of-the-box point of view to the table, gifts us with her exceptional teaching skills and never fails to keep us on track.
Nahaku Kalei
Former Executive Director for Hui Aloha O Kīholo, a Marine Biologist, accomplished Canoe paddler and sailor on the Voyaging Canoes Hokule'a and Hikianalia. Auntie Nahaku helps keep Na Pe'a organized, moving forward and always brings a perfect degree of seriousness accompanied by her memorable hugs and smile.
E. Kalani Flores
Professor of Hawaiian Studies, Hawaii Community Collage, Palamanui. Experienced Hawaiian Outrigger Sailing Canoe Racer and Hawaiian Cultural Practitioner, provides insight into the deeper cultural elements of the canoe along with open ocean sailing skills.
Dale Fergerstrom
Uncle Dale provides Nā Pe'a with a wealth of knowledge from the tradition of Hawaiian sailing canoes, to the mo'olelo of people and places here in Hawaii. He provides our crew with the advice and example which helps us grow and encourages us to be better people.
Chayden Baker
Chayden was raised in Kapoho Puna and has been working on charter boats for the last 7 Years. He is a Licensed 25 Ton Captain and when not conducting sailing classes for the Nakoa Foundation he is a Captain for Eka Canoe Adventures.
