The 2017 Voyage began on July 5th at the Puako boat ramp in South Kohala.   Na Pe'a sailed 6.7 miles south to Kapalaoa located at the Kona boundary.  Winds were very strong.

On July 6 Na Pe'a set sail from Kapalaoa for Keawakiki. A distance of 1.8 miles. At Keawaiki Na Pe'a was hosted by the Brown Family.

On July 7, Na Pe'a set sail from Keawaiki to Kiholo where we were hosted by the Nature Conservancy. This leg was a distance of 3 miles.  

Total distance traveled by canoe, 11.5 miles

Na Pe'a remained at Kiholo where we met with some Honoka'a School Students  on July 8.

On July 9 Na Pe'a gave a sailing demonstration to some Teachers who are in the UH  Master's Degree STEMS program.
